What's happening?

More hard moments →

They're agitated, and nothing you say is landing.

  1. 1Take one slow breath before you do anything. You can't calm someone if you're not calm.
  2. 2Pain, hunger, needing the bathroom, or an infection can all cause agitation. These need to be ruled out first.
  3. 3Speak slowly and softly. Don't argue, correct, or explain. Match their emotional tone — validate what they're feeling, not the facts.

With Plus, every 👍 becomes part of their playbook.

Made by a family carer who was up at 3am too.

It's 6pm.
The bath, again.

You know the moment. The one you dread all day.

The sundowning. The refusing to eat. The “I want to go home” when you’re already home. In that moment you don’t know what to do — and there’s no one to ask.

What settled them last time, medication times, appointments — it all lives in your head. And when you forget, the guilt is crushing.

Googling at 2am

Eleven tabs. Generic advice. None of it about your mum.

Asking a chatbot

Starts from zero every time. It doesn't know what you tried last Tuesday.

The carer forum

Kind strangers — three hours later.

OurTurn answers in seconds, about your person — and remembers what helped, because you told it.

Set up in three steps. Help starts today.

01

Tell us about them, once.

Their name, what soothes them, what they love. Two minutes.

02

When the moment hits, tap what's happening.

Calm steps shaped around your person — not a generic anyone.

Plus03

When something helps, tap 👍.

With Plus, OurTurn keeps it. Next time, 'warm towel first' is already there.

Six months in, it knows Maria settles with the radio and the blue cardigan — because you told it once, on a hard Tuesday.

Tuesday, 6:40pm. It helped.

You tap 👍 once. 'Warm towel first' becomes a line in what-works-for-Maria — and it stays there.

OurTurn Care Summary

  • Evenings calmer after short walks

  • Questions for the doctor: 3

Also: the guides work offline · your whole family sees one calm picture · notices when your own check-ins have been heavier · and for them, a companion, not a test — the AI talks to you, never to them.

When our family faced a dementia diagnosis, the hardest part wasn’t the logistics — it was the moments we didn’t know how to handle. The refusing, the repeating, the “I want to go home.” We looked everywhere for something to get us through those moments. It didn’t exist. So we built it.

OurTurn started as one family’s need after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. We learned from the approaches dementia carers are taught — validation, person-centred care, the DICE method — and turned them into calm, in-the-moment help any family can reach for. We’re still early, and we’d love your family to help shape it.

Just noticed some changes?

Whether you are waiting on answers or simply want more peace of mind, OurTurn helps you organise daily life, keep everyone connected, and feel a little more in control — gently, at your own pace.

Get started free

OurTurn supports families whether or not a diagnosis is confirmed. It is a wellness and daily-life companion — not a screening, assessment, or medical tool.

The things you might be wondering

Is the free help really unlimited?
Yes. In-the-moment help and the AI coach are never metered on the free plan. Plus adds the remembering — the playbook, check-ins, location, reports — not the help itself.
We've only just noticed some changes. Is it too early?
It's the best time. OurTurn starts gently and is already in your pocket long before the harder evenings come.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT at 2am?
A general chatbot starts from zero every time. OurTurn is built only for this: steps grounded in approaches used by dementia-care professionals, like DICE and validation; crisis lines for 27 European countries; and — with Plus — a memory of what you’ve found helps your person.
Is this medical advice?
No. OurTurn is a wellness product, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything. For medical questions, talk to your doctor; in an emergency, call 112.
What does the AI do with what I share?
Your data is handled under GDPR and hosted in the EU. You'll always know when you're talking to AI — that's an EU transparency rule we're glad exists.
Does my mum have to use anything?
No. And if she does use her companion app, it has no AI in it — the AI talks to you, never to her.
What languages does OurTurn speak?
31. Our newest features arrive in English first and are translated on a rolling basis.
Can my brother join?
Yes — the free plan includes one more caregiver; Plus brings the whole family into one calm picture.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your playbook stays readable and exportable — it's yours. And the help stays free, forever.
